Valcour Records Co-founder Phillip LaFargue was recognized in November as an honoree in the Baton Rouge Business Report’s 2012 Forty Under 40 class of rising stars in the capital region. For twenty years, Business Report has highlighted forty people each year from all different backgrounds who are having success in business and/or having a positive impact on the community around them. For Phillip, who left Louisiana for education and experience in design and came back to apply his talents locally, the honor was recognition for his work as director of communications at the statewide non-profit Center for Planning Excellence, for his participation in various community-based arts and economic development organizations, and of course for his labor of love, Valcour Records.
“I chose the word Analytical to describe myself because analysis and understanding is the foundation for any creativity I might possess,” said LaFargue. “To me it is all about problem solving—whether you are designing websites or product packaging, creating a communication strategy, or growing a business—and being a good problem solver means being both analytical and creative.”
We would like to extend a hearty congratulations to Phillip and invite you to visit his Forty Under 40 profile page.
