T’ Monde, meaning “little world” or “little people”, began playing together in early 2011.  Members Drew Simon, Megan Brown, and Kelli Jones-Savoy are seasoned musicians and have played with many renowned Cajun bands including the Pine Leaf Boys, the Savoy Family band, Walter Mouton and the Scott Playboys, the Magnolia Sisters, and Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys just to name a few. Â
Steeped in traditionalism, T’Monde plays old fashioned Cajun music ranging from the early 1900′s to present day. All three musicians are talented singers, each with their own distinct sound that makes the band very unique and special to see. Influenced by many different styles of folk music, T’ Monde brings you rocking two steps, beautiful harmonies, sorrowful waltzes, and heartfelt blues. Their debut album, Making Believe is a fine example of the band’s special dynamic of different musical styles, soulful singing, and musicianship that makes the band fun to watch and listen to.
T’ Monde recently released Making Believe on the Swallow Music label. The album is a perfect example of the trio’s diverse influences and talents. From Lefty Frizzel’s “She’s Gone, Gone” to Shorty Leblanc’s “Tears of Sorrow”, the thirteen tracks portray each of the musician’s talent and singing styles. From rocking two-steps, to country music standards sung in English and French, to haunting Cajun love songs, this one is a winner. You can purchase Making Believe directly from T’ Monde’s website.
We are proud to feature them as Valcour’s March 2012Â Artist of the Month!
